Fun, friendly and inclusive football for young people with disabilities and additional needs.
Eagles Kicks is Canterbury Eagles’ pan-disability football programme, providing a welcoming and supportive environment where young people can enjoy playing football and develop their skills.
Our sessions are designed for players with a wide range of disabilities and additional needs. We understand that every player is different, so activities can be adapted to help each child participate at a level that is appropriate and enjoyable for them.
You don’t need any previous football experience to join us. Whether your child already loves football or would simply like to give it a try, our focus is on having fun, building confidence, making friends and enjoying being active.
What happens at a session?
Sessions include fun football activities, games and opportunities to develop football skills. Coaches will adapt activities where needed so that players can participate and progress at their own pace.
Above all, we want Eagles Kicks to be a positive environment where every player feels welcome and included.
Before your first session
We recognise that parents and carers know their child best. If there is anything that would help us support your child — including communication needs, sensory considerations, mobility requirements or other adjustments — please let us know.
If you are unsure whether Eagles Kicks would be suitable for your child, please get in touch. We are happy to discuss their individual needs before attending.
Clothing and equipment
Players should wear comfortable clothing suitable for taking part in football and appropriate footwear for the playing surface. Shin pads should also be worn.
In warmer weather, a T-shirt, shorts and football socks are recommended. In colder weather, players may wish to wear a sports jumper, tracksuit trousers, hat and gloves.
Please bring a bottle of water.
If your child requires medication or other medical support while attending, parents/carers should bring any prescribed medication or equipment they may need.
Parents and carers
Parents/carers should remain at the venue during the session. Your support can be particularly helpful while players become familiar with the coaches, other players and the session environment.
Everyone deserves the chance to play
Canterbury Eagles believes football should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Eagles Kicks is about much more than learning football skills. We want players to build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging — while enjoying the game in a supportive environment.
Come along and give it a go. We’d love to welcome you to Eagles Kicks.
Canterbury Eagles is run by volunteers who have a passion to support children to have fun and develop their interest in football. Most of the volunteers at the club are parents/guardians who have children playing in various age groups. We encourage all parents/guardians to volunteer to support with coaching or other roles.
If parents/guardians are interested in supporting in a coaching capacity then the Club will pay for a DBS Check, as well as supply a coaching kit & equipment. Additional training and support by experienced and qualified coaches is also provided.
